Thurrock RFC T-Birds 1st XV

Thurrock RFC T-Birds squad season 2009 - 2010

Blackheath is cancelled and rescheduled for 21st February.

Thurrock Ladies, the T-birds were crowned champions of  Championship South East 2 for the 2008/09 season.  Following promotion from National Challenge South East 1 and a second successive unbeaten season,  they played 13 games undefeated and were awarded 1 walkover.

They  scored 432 points and conceded only 37.  17 individual T-birds  scored 75 tries between them and only conceded 6.  But for the walkover they would have almost certainly broken the +400 points difference mark.

In 7 of those games they claimed the 5 try bonus point and finished the league on 63 points, over 20 points ahead of second and third place.

In fact they have only lost a total of 2 league games in 3 seasons and missed promotion by just a point in 2007.  In 2 seasons that's 159 tries for and only 13 against.  Probably the best record in any Women's league.

T-Birds are the top placed Essex side and are actively recruiting to strengthen their squad for the rigours of the new league.

A development side, which played their first games in the 08/09 season, have a full match list for the 09/10.
